Yesterday, Thorsten Heins, the CEO of the company formerly known as RIM, dropped this pearl of wisdom into the industry's astonished ears. "I don't think there'll be a reason to have a tablet any more within five years", he opined. There's more evidence today that Verizon is moving along with plans to buy-out Vodafone's 45 per cent share-holding in Verizon Wireless. Rumours of a buy-out have been rife for some weeks and now several well-placed sources say Verizon has secured the services of both legal advisors and investment banks to expedite the deal.
