Piracy and Privacy: why should the network operator play piggy in the middle?
Content owners want them to be judge and jury on piracy; governments want them to be snoopers and record keepers. Operators just want to focus on their customers. Why should network operators and ISPs be caught in the middle over these issues? Is it time to reassert the principles of network neutrality and 'mere carriage'?
