That HP video after the news is the most exciting thing I've seen on mobile forever!

The thing I feel about Symbian is it's all technology and the marketing is left to the handset vendors and carriers (not really so different from MSFTs approach to mobile). And neither Symbian nor MSFT get customers jumping with excitement. I'm hoping that Symbian can get some real momentum (better web, better multimedia, better apps) as an open source platform as the heat is on. On a basic level just this year it's getting squeezed by Apple on a touchscreen device and Android has turned on the heat for keyboard devices. I tried the iPhone and G1 and both were better than the UI of Nokia N-Series. But I still believe/hope Symbian engineering can come through to be #1.
