First it was the iPhone 4 with its rubbish antenna design, now Google has got it all wrong with the Nexus S and its ability to hold phone calls. The Google Mobile Help Forum has been besieged by users who can’t hold voice calls for longer than three minutes.
Whilst we are all grateful for the incredible advances in smartphone technology, are consistently amazed by the latest fancy features, surely it would be nice if we could actually use these expensive devices to make phone calls?
The IntoMobile site picked up the discussion, and the response from Google employee Ry Guy:
Hey all,
So we’ve successfully reproduced this issue and are in the process of investigating with Samsung.
I’ll provide updates as soon as I have them.

That hasn’t stopped irate owners of the expensive Nexus S from venting their anger. The latest post this morning nicely summed up the frustration:
"ok.. this is beyond stupid now.. EVERY call i have made in the last 24 hours on my nexus S has friggin rebooted the phone."
Google must be hoping the problem lies with the manufacturer Samsung, and not with its latest 2.3 operating system, Gingerbread…
