Juniper raises “Open Garden” model for service providers

Juniper service provider marketing and partnerships VP Andrew Coward told CommsDay that revenue growth is driven by applications and IT services rather than network services.

He said that over the top video and IPTV will be major drivers of IP traffic growth, with increasing worldwide internet video revenue and IPTV subscribers. Also, SaaS and web services will drive significant IP traffic growth, with broadband connectivity and technology being the enablers.

“Because broadband has become saturated in many markets, there is no incremental revenue coming in from consumers and businesses to support ever larger amounts of bandwidth,” he said.
