And now, assistant professor Roy Choudhury at the unfortunately-named Pratt School of Engineering there, has led a team in developing something called 'virtual sticky notes' (or perhaps post-it notes) which are the active ingredient in what it's calling its 'micro-blog' application.

This version of micro-blogging is really one more take on marrying location services and community using mobile devices - think location-based Twitter but with richer content. The virtual sticky note encompasses the idea that one could leave time and location-specific (site specific) general messages or comments about whatever it was you were experiencing at the time. Obvious examples might be a restaurant experience - if very good or very bad you slap a sticky note on it to warn or encourage other members of your community who might be considering entering.
