Yesterday's news: Associated Press launches a Mobile News Network

In the full knowledge that print journalism as we know it is doomed to the dustbin of history - thanks to the Internet and now the increasing popularity of internet-enabled mobile handsets - the venerated American news agency, the Associated Press (AP), has hedged its bets against inevitable obsolescence and gone mobile.

 

The service, called the "Mobile News Network" (piggy-backing somewhat on the eponynimity of the CNN moniker) hit the wireless airwaves on Monday delivering 24-7 multimedia reports to mobile news-junkies.
