Mobistar's MVNO strategy fattens subscriber numbers but thins ARPU

Mobistar is the Belgian operator, number two in its market and majority owned by France Telecom, which has adopted a growth strategy using mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) partners to build its network subscriptions. From a business point of view this approach is akin to appointing a retail distribution channel instead of going direct - you gain from having multiple sales outlets and being able to appeal (through yourMVNO specialists) to parts of the market you wouldn't be able to reach yourself, and in return you give away margin.
