Skype and 3 partner to give Britons free calls

eBay’s Skype is planning to offer free mobile calls to Britons through 3, the British mobile phone arm of Hong Kong’s Hutchison Whampoa.

The world’s largest VoIP and the 3G mobile phone operator are launching a handset that will enable users to make free calls to each other, later this year.
 
Skype is already offered on many of the operator 3's handsets through a subscription, however the new handset will work by sending phone calls over the Internet as data and will include a function where Skype customers can contact one another.

The VoIP-capable mobile phone will be available to both pre-paid and post-paid U.K.
